Sans Aquarium
Sometimes I like to work with a famous piece and see what I can learn from it. This is based on a Painting by Matisse. I must have learned something. I'll let you know when I realize what it is. I painted Sans Aquarium a few weeks ago but wasn't quite happy with it. I tweaked it a little today and like it much more. Contact me if you are interested in purchasing this painting...T

Have I ever told you how much I love to read? I just finished My Lobotomy by Howard Dully. Kind of a morbid Christmas gift from Tom. I loved it and It is a TRUE story. I almost cried. Tom knows me so well. ..T

Shrimp Creole
This year I have a new years resolution of a different sort. Occasionally I will post a painting with a recipe attached. My resolution was to write and illustrate a cookbook of my favorite cuisine. I don't think I can handle the pressure of calling it a book so I will just call it an online collection instead.
Like always the paintings are for sale. I am still not able to post on eBay . If you would like to purchase "Shrimp Creole" the price is $30.00. Just contact me to arrange payment.
The first recipe is one that has been in my family for generations.
If you cant get FRESH shrimp, Chicken is good too.
Taunt Lid's Shrimp Creole
3-4 lbs raw shrimp peeled and deveined
5tbs Shortening
4tbs Flour
1 large Onion
1/4 cup green peppers - chopped
6-8 green onions -chopped
1/2 cup celery - chopped
1 small garlic clove - chopped
1 tbs Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp Tabasco
1 8oz can Tomato sauce
1 8oz can water
salt , red, black pepper to taste
Make a rue with flour and shortening in a large iron pan. Add garlic celery, onions, green peppers. Also add tomato sauce and water season with salt pepper and red pepper. simmer thirty minutes. Bring to a boil and add shrimp. Reduce heat and let simmer 15 to 20 minutes serve over cooked rice.
